Profile of Speakers:

 

Everett Rosenfeld is the Asia Pacific Editor for CNBC.com. He was formerly a reporter for CNBC, covering international macroeconomics, trade policy, politics and financial technologies from the United States and Germany. Prior to that role, he worked on CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" and the network's assignment desk.

 

Before joining the company, Rosenfeld worked as a founding editor for a medical news start up. He has written for TIME from its offices in New York and Hong Kong and has had articles featured on CNN, SikhChic.com, USA Today, The Fiscal Times, Christian Science Monitor, MSN, Yahoo, Re/code and more.

 

Rosenfeld holds a bachelor's degree in Ethics, Politics and Economics from Davenport College at Yale University, and several certifications in the study of Mandarin.

 

Lars Voedisch is an experienced communications and business professional with over 15 years expertise in growing, managing and defending leading global brands’ reputation from an in-house and agency perspective across different industry sectors in traditional and digital media. With his strong background in business development, integrated communications and team leadership, he drives impactful communications strategies that contribute to brands’ strategic objectives. He has worked with many prominent brands e.g. Coca Cola, Intel Security, glispa, Software AG, DBS, Honda, Porsche, Citibank, Procter & Gamble, Yahoo!, InMobi, Evernote etc.

 

Lena Goh is the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for the newly formed Government Technology Agency (GovTech) of the Singapore Government. Formerly from the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), she has taken on this new role since the statutory formation of GovTech in October, 2016.


In this role, she is focused on marketing the digital transformation journey of the government digital services and in demonstrating the positive impact it has on the people and businesses. As part of Singapore’s vision to become a Smart Nation, her role also includes helping to shape the domestic and international audience understanding and awareness of Singapore’s achievements.

 

In addition, Lena’s duties also include managing the communications and community engagement teams and providing senior counsel to the GovTech leadership team. Lena currently seats on GovTech’s senior leadership team.

Having spent almost 20 years in the private sector in the technology and media businesses prior to joining the civil service, Lena has led marketing and communications teams in global companies such as Microsoft and Motorola. She has an extensive product, marketing and communications experience managing different product portfolios such as mobile, PC, servers, software across these companies and has also served time in local operators SingTel and M1 prior to her global roles.


Sujin Thomas started his career has an intern reporter at Streats and joined The Straits Times Life! as a music and nightlife reporter when he graduated from university in 2004. He has built solid contacts and networks in the entertainment industry and has interviewed more than 200 well-known personalities in his time.

 

In 2007, he did a career flip when he joined The Straits Times newsdesk wanting to dabble in the shadier side of news - covering crime and courts. Later on, he became news editor at My Paper (English) and was also an assistant news editor at The Straits Times newsdesk.


In recent years, he has been deputy editor at SPH Razor, the video arm of the company, and deputy editor at AsiaOne, helping to shift and drive editorial content in the challenging online sphere.


Rebecca Pazos is an interactive graphics journalist at The Straits Times. She is part of a team of designers and developers who are pushing the boundaries of digital journalism - from data visualisation to virtual reality - anything is possible. While studying journalism back in Australia, she voluntarily worked on various data projects for Sydney’s flagship newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald. After moving to Singapore in 2013, she worked in digital publishing before joining the ST Digital desk in 2015.
